Is it just me or are scooters annoying?

Maybe we should coordinate the 'Italy Day on 30-A' with the Via Colori Festival in Seaside.

We could all pull into Seaside looking like a Dolce & Gabbana makeover of the Hell's Angels.

Anyone up for it?

Seeing that Seaside is going for that Siena Italy look anyway with all the new construction, why not? Though I really don't think SoWal is ready for "real" Italian traffic...I don't think anyone in this world except the Italians could deal with that.

I'll take a cute little Smart Car over an Italian scooter any day.

I prefer scooters to say...Hummers.

A few years back, a group of us talked about renting scooters one Saturday.
The plan was to dress in (faux) Italiano fashions, and zip up and down 30-A drinking capuccinos and stopping at every wine/pizza place along the way. It was to be 'Italy day on 30-A'.

We may need to revive this idea.

Sigh...the little Vespas... love them. (though, cute as they are, the noise could get annoying on 30A if they became a routine part of 30a life).

I saw two Vespas cruising thru Seaside recently. One was a very clean vintage machine, probably from the 60's. The other was new. There was a distinctive difference in the noise level and the old one was puking two-stroke smoke from the exhaust. Progress can be good.

Boy, if a Vespa (or other scooter) was quiet, then I'd consider one for our visits to SoWal.

mentioned in SJ's post above, makes hardly any noise. 50cc and powerful enough to maintain the speed limit on 30a. i use one all over telluride, when i'm working.

... and you guys think that motorcycles and scooter are loud? Check this footage out taken this afternoon from Grayton Beach. If you have a subwoofer on your puter, crank it up to get a partial feel of how loud these things were.

VIP surveying the coast? :idontno:
Probaly just some young guns watching for hotties on spring break. When you slow the frames down, you can see that one of the guys in the second chopter is filming with a video camera. Why else would they run that low and close to the beach? The crazy thing is, that I could hear those chopters when they were in Destin. It took them a while to get in site, and when they passed, you could barely hear them when they got to Seaside.
