Is Jeff Miller a RINO?

I read in the paper this morning that Jeff Miller, our local Republican Congressman voted AGAINST a bill to reinstate "pay as you go" rules that require a revenue stream be attached to any increase in domestic spending. Our local Democrat congressman Alan Boyd voted for it. WTH? This is what is wrong with politics, Miller voted against it simply because a Democrat proposed it, then comes home and says he is for fiscal responsibility. While I am sure the bill was not perfect it was a step in the right direction and should have been supported as a first step towards sanity. Until we stop voting against parties and begin doing the right thing we will never turn this country around.

I'm not really sure but wasn't this "pay as you go" attached to the vote to raise the debt ceiling? If that is the case then I can see why he may have voted against it.

Jeff Miller is not a RINO. The "pay as you go" amendment was attached to a bill to raise the public debt ceiling. If this amendment had failed then the bill to raise the debt ceiling would have also failed. Too bad that Scott Brown had not been sworn in yet - this bill would not have passed.

That is why I asked. The recount in the paper had them as two separate votes. The democrat leadership should be ashamed for linking two completely opposite bills.
