Oh, fall is my absolute favorite time of year for many reasons. relief from a long hot summer, 70 degree gorgeous wonderful weather, blue jeans and boots, halloween, the best time of year at the beach - ever, locals gather at the Red Bar, the crowds are gone, and all is peaceful. This area does not have much in the way of changing leaves, but the beauty of the beach, the water, the wildflowers, etc. is incredible. the weather will remain perfect til Christmas or later.

however, christmas time does make me very anxious....

I would like the end of summer better at the beach. Here, it's just dark too early, hot usually til Thanksgiving, no real holidays between Labor Day and Thanksgiving, some leaves, but they only last about a day. Not real exciting.

Toots, have you not finished your shopping yet?

I have about 18 neices and nephews on my list. I'm getting ready to drop them and concentrate on my own kid (I'll continue to do birthdays!). I didn't know I was going to have children, so I established a tradition of buying for all the kids - and we have huge families on both sides. kids get so much from santa these days, they really don't need gifts from everyone else. I want to buy for our parents, and a few close local friends who we celebrate Christmas with, and of course spidey. his santa/christmas list is growing by the day...

maybe I'll make some christmas ornaments this year for close friends and family.... how does one make ornaments? Jfunn - you are creatively gifted aren't you??

Whew! You've got a big list! We still buy for our kids, and the grandkids of course, but I cut it WAY down last year. I used to just go crazy, but now I spend more on decorations, etc. The grandkids get so much, it's silly to buy them a lot. But, I always expect Santa to visit me. This year, I'm asking for French Doors. I always WANT jewelry, but never get it, so I go for the more practical. Mr. dd gave up buying me clothes years ago, cuz he always bought things about 6 sizes too small and then was mad when I wouldn't wear them.

Hmmm........ornaments....I thought we were having an SoWal ornament exchange--get that glitter out girl!!

Toots- I've bought clear glass ornaments at Michaels and hand painted them. I make a pretty mean snowman.;-) If we do an ornament exchange, I'm totally in!

Yes and yes. I cannot wait, I need a big break!

Bsmart, the girl in your tar is really pretty. Her dress/top reminds me of one of Laura's designs from Project Runway. Does she always dress so nice for the library? ( at least that's what it looks like) So, is it serious?

She does dress up quite nicely  . We are actually at Last Resort Grille in Athens, in that photo. I hope it gets a little more serious. Right now it is just dating, as in each other and no other person. We have a lot in common: Love football, we are both runners, I used to play soccer and she retired from soccer at UGA because of an injury, love to travel, etc..

bsmart, I too  Last Resort Grille. Excellent menu. Back in the day, mine that is, the Last Resort was a different sort of place. So gald it's lasted through the years. :clap_1: By the way, she's a keeper. ;-)

You know if it weren't for school and football, I would hate this time of year, the end of summer and the turning of the leaves is so depressing.
Oh, bsmart, the turning of the leaves is my favorite time of year! I don't welcome winter, but I truly love Fall.
I have a tradition on this day every year; I play U2's "October' to ring in the season. I better hurry up--still haven't done it!
