Well, the BIG ORANGE start their season on September 2nd. Of course the main rivalry game I am interested in the most isn't Tennessee's game against Florida September 16th or the game against Alabama October 21st, am interested in them somewhat, but I have another game I am more interested in. Both the Florida and Alabama games are in Knoxville, so that will be some problems for both of the opponets. Try concentrating with 107,000 very vocal BIG ORANGE fans. The game I am interested in more is the game here between Memphis and Tennessee September 30th. That is the intrastate rivalry. And it is being played here and I could get tickets and go like a few years back but it is on TV so I will watch it on ESPN. GO VOLS!

Uf has a pretty good record in Kville recently. But the question I have is whether there will be enough UT players to field a team after the most recent round of arrests and recruits who have not qualified academically?

And will Fulmer make it through the entire year?

That SI issue is really good!

Less than 30 days now for tailgating Saturdays. :clap_1:
I'll have to read it.

Hope we have a great season, but many prognosticators say we won't even win the SEC. I still love watching them play.

Neyland Stadium would swallow that whole! This is a real football stadium.

That is a very large stadium. 110,000 folks wearing orange and 111,000 teeth.

;-) Aw c'mon Kurt. Everyone in that stadium has more than one tooth seeing as that is what you are implying. Florida will go home with their tails between their legs after we slaughter them on the field and I will have the last laugh. Neyland Stadium is the largest stadium in the South and the loudest. Very difficult place to play as teams find out! I bet you could not find a ticket to the Tennessee Florida game at this time other than from scalpers for high dollar! The SEC is the toughest conference. So there should be some good games this year, which I look forward to. Tennessee has their great offensive coordinator back. I have heard about the arrest but do not know who it involved other than I think it was a freshman. They have done without players before. Last season was the first year Tennessee had a losing season since 1987. Just depends on how they rebound this year. I wouldn't think they would base his job security on one losing season, but who knows. People who are big time vol supporters money wise that make their displeasure known can make them rethink things.

Florida beat Tennessee last year in Knoxville sure, but lost in 2004 to Tennessee at Florida and lost in 2003 to Tennessee at Knoxville. So I wouldn't call that a great record against Tennessee at Knoxville. I will have to read up on their team this year. Haven't read about them on utsports.com yet! Have seen the schedule though. I haven't cared for their quarterbacks. Eric Ainge I have never been impressed with. Casey Clausen's brother didn't impress me too much either. He was ok! And Brent Schaeffer that is at Ole Miss now, I don't feel was that great either.

UF beat UT in Gainesville last year not Kville. UF is 4-2 at Kville over the last 6. Which is a great road record in the SEC. Look out for California in your 1st game.

Knoxnews.com VOLS BLOTTER
  • Marvin Mitchell: Fifth-year senior middle linebacker suspended indefinitely after being charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct May 1. Reached deal with prosecutors to have charge expunged from his record if he avoided trouble for 30 days and paid court costs. UT coach Phillip Fulmer said at SEC media days last week that he expects Mitchell to be available for the Sept. 2 opener against California.
  • Raymond Henderson: Redshirt freshman defensive tackle dismissed from team May 3 after making "inappropriate" comments to a woman and her daughter at a Knoxville restaurant. No charges were filed. Henderson has since transferred to Minnesota.
  • Jim Bob Cooter: Fifth-year senior backup quarterback suspended indefinitely after being charged with driving under the influence near campus June 3 at around 3:25 a.m. Preliminary hearing set for Aug. 17. Cooter will miss the California opener.
  • Marsalous Johnson: Redshirt freshman defensive back charged with aggravated assault after allegedly pointing a toy gun at Putnam County Sheriff?s Deputy Michael Hoover while driving on Interstate 40 Sunday night. Johnson was suspended Wednesday for the first four games of the season.
  • Lee Smith: Incoming freshman tight end from Powell High School charged with driving under the influence Wednesday and dismissed from the team. Also part of an ongoing grade tampering and "sexual and/or inappropriate relationship" investigation involving a suspended assistant principal at Powell.
