Paula Dean Rules!!! I love her. She has recipe for banana pudding that is to die for. I have made it several times to bring in to work and to bring to family functions. Everyone requests it. It is called: Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding recipe follows. I promise, if you make this and take it anywhere, you will alway's have to bring it!!!

Not Yo' Mama's Banana Pudding

2 bags Pepperidge Farm Chessmen cookies
6 to 8 bananas, sliced
2 cups milk
1 (5-ounce) box instant French vanilla pudding
1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 (12-ounce) container frozen whipped topping thawed, or equal amount sweetened whipped cream

Line the bottom of a 13 by 9 by 2-inch dish with 1 bag of cookies and layer bananas on top.

In a bowl, combine the milk and pudding mix and blend well using a handheld electric mixer. Using another bowl, combine the cream cheese and condensed milk together and mix until smooth. Fold the whipped topping into the cream cheese mixture. Add the cream cheese mixture to the pudding mixture and stir until well blended. Pour the mixture over the cookies and bananas and cover with the remaining cookies. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

I put on weight just watching her show. :funn: I got her cookbooks for gifts last year and have been very pleased.

KD - I haven't even thought about banana pudding for ages. I'm trying that recipe!

Oh, yeah, I forgot the whipped cream and cream cheese. AND IT'S YELLOW!

I'm just teasing you all. I watch Paula Deen every time I get a chance. Everyone can get annoying sometimes (or in my case, most of the time - don't you DARE agree - LOLOL).
I made one of her casseroles for T'giving and you're right... it called for 1 C. of mayo and 1 stick of butter!! But it was the hit at T'giving dinner!

I guess it's comfort food while you are eating it and discomfort food when you have to let your belt out!

I love you guys. Only this group could turn an embedded tick head question into a good banana pudding recipe discussion. This may be weirdest tangent of 2005!
