Jim Greer charged big on Florida GOP credit card - St. Petersburg Times

n Vegas, he spent $545 at Caesars Rao's restaurant, paid Designer Tickets Inc. $660 and chartered On Demand limousine service for $429.

There is no record of the state party receiving donations from Nevada around the times Greer was there, though one trip coincided with a Vegas fundraiser for the Crist Senate campaign.

In the August 2009 billing month, Greer spent $17,293.84 when he flew to California. He rang up a $1,994.34 bill for a two-day rental car and charged $1,094.38 at Mr. Chow's restaurant in Beverly Hills.

Meanwhile, a number of RPOF party leaders were much more careful with their cards:

Instead, he said he considered "every dollar I spent I couldn't spend on a candidate, a television ad, a bumper sticker or yard sign."

He said that he put 150,000 miles on his 2005 Honda Odyssey criss-crossing the state for candidates, stayed over night only when he had to, and "if could get away with picking up my own tab at a dinner, I did it.''

Why? "It wasn't my money,'' he said. "...I don't think I had any other option but to handle the card as I handled it.''
