when my hubby externed at the hospital where i work now, he didn't care for it, he said it made him to nervous, esp. dealing with iv's. unfortunately to move to the south, we'd have to take the state boards again, and frankly - there ain't no way !!!! believe me he would love to move south, but i can't move while my parents are still around, and don't think i could stand to be any farther from my sister. the main thing i think that gets to him is the nasty public - we have lots of medicaid patients who frankly shouldn't be on it around here, and they are the absolute most hateful nasty rude people you have ever seen. i am talking 23,24, 25 year old men and women who won't work - but that is another story.
Wow, I would really hate that too. Good luck !!!

Do what you love and you'll never work a day in your life.

Do what you love and the money will follow.

Two statements people say are true, but they don't want to hear them. People get stuck in certain places or with certain people, bills and kids come along and then it's often too late.

One of the reasons we have so many miserable people walking around trying to make the best of a bad situation. Although it's never too late to change, it might be risky and scary.

And if it is too late for you, teach the children well. Give them the chance to be happy by passing on the wisdom to find out what they truly love and are gifted to do. And how to determine who are good people and who aren't. And where is a good place and where a good place is not. And that the perfect situation might not be out there so learn to be happy with what you got. It's not about having what you want, it's about wanting what you have. And if you can't be with the one you love, love the one you're with. I . . . can't . . . stop . . .

i agree with you kurt - my pop gets aggravated with my sis because she teaches for head start and makes no money at all, and her husband farms. i keep telling him the money doesn't matter if they are happy, because i see every day what it is like for someone to go to work hating their job. the whole keep up with the joneses is bad around here, my husband's sister and her husband built a huge home in texas, and like to let everyone know how big it is. i keep thinking to myself, they'll never be able to retire, they'll still owe on their house. and while my house may be small and modest, it will be paid for in about 5 years !

This is us, too--I'm comfortable with it and feel it's the right thing for us. We have neighbors across the street whom we love, and all our kids play together. Like us, they are packed in pretty close over there, and the mom just found out she was pregnant. First thing they did? Called an architect to see about finishing their basement. The moral is, they don't want to move, they love their life here with friends for themselves and their kids and a safe, dead-end street. Why move to a bigger house when they've found contentment right where they are? For me, their act of calling the architect was a life lesson.

when you drive thru some of the neighborhoods around here, you see huge house, 2 new cars, 3 or 4 kids per family, and i am thinking these people must be in debt up to their eyeballs. everyone has the best of everything, and where does it all stop? i don't want to work for my house. i work for vacations to the beach !!!! my sister in law has not been on a vacation for years, and i think that is sad. i guess i learned my money thinking from my parents. both of them were from poor homes, and had nothing until they got married. their philosophy that they taught me was make sure your bills are paid, don't use your credit cards foolishly, and if you have anything left over, that is fun money.

Despite what it may seem, I do consider my job a blessing. I came from a department that is losing their jobs in the summer and I am getting married in May, so I need an income. I do want to work, I do want to bring in an income and be "out there" doing something. I just don't feel this is it and I tend to let it interfere with the rest of my life. Being aware of that, I have to make a conscious effort to not let it, even though, at times, I don't succeed. Part of my dilemma lies with the inflexibility of my job. My husband-to-be is a youth pastor and I would really like to be able to be involved with his ministry, but working here will limit my involvement. I need something with a little flexibility.

why is it that the people getting everything paid for them are the nastiest most hateful people to deal with ?
I make no excuses for others, but maybe they are difficult to work with because they just returned from waiting three hours at the Doctor's office, after making the appointment two weeks prior when they were just beginning to show symptoms of illness. Top that off with they missed a half day's pay from work, and their insurance company's reps are angry too. On top of that they are sick. :puke:I will definitely keep you and Mr Audie in mind the next time I visit the pharm. I am usually very nice to people, but have been known to blow a gasket when the pharmacy misplaces medicine or, even worse, the script.

What do you recommend for my sudden cold?

SJ...there is so much bad stuff floating around!!!! half of our family was sick for Christmas...................I hope you feel better soon
