I spoke with Josie yesterday and she is doing pretty good. She continues not to have much feeling other than electrical pulses from her left knee to her hip. However, the good news is that she is now beginning to walk a little bit without people assisting her.

I am sure she would love to hear from you guys who were so gracious, and she can still receive mail at :

Thanks again for helping Josie along the sometimes difficult Road of Life.

Twilight Zone--I was just looking at cards for her yesterday! Thanks for the update, SJ.

Thanks for the update, SJ. Sounds like Josi has come a long way and still has a long way to go. Is she back home full-time with her children yet?

You all may remember that for those of us who contributed to Jose's recovery fund, SJ surprised us all by putting our names in a hat and pulling out a winning name. That winner was to receive a hand-knitted hat or scarf by SJ. Well, I was the lucky winner and received my beautiful sea blue hand-knitted scarf from SJ when I was in SoWal in late February. THANKS SJ.

I was waiting to mention this on the message board until we got a little more snow in Michigan so I could attach a photo of me wearing the scarf in the snow, but we've had no snow since then. So, here's my public thank you to SJ (without the photo, but you can picture a beautiful scarf on a very appreciative woman who can't believe she's wishing for snow in spring just so she can post a photo for her friends at the beach). SJ's a great knitter -- saw a hat he knitted, too.

Paula, thanks for being one of many to help spur Josi along the road of recovery.

Josi is still staying at her Mom and Dad's with her precious kids. I think she has a long road in front of her to be self reliant and able to move back to her own place.

I just received a thank you from Josi yesterday! Thanks for the update!

We also had a lovely note from Josi and are glad that her recovery continues to go well. How unfortunate the accident, yet how fortunate Josi is to have such caring friends.

I was wondering how she was doing as well......thanks for the update.
Please wish her well from all of us on the board

So sorry that I missed this earlier SJ. Guess I was in Tampa when this was going down. Is she still renting her medical equipment? Does she need her own walker, rehab equip or something that might cut down her monthly expenses? I have some friends that have connections with most of the big drug companies. If she's on any really expensive drugs (non-controlled) maybe we could get the manufacturer to comp them for her :idontno: worth a try because I know how expensive some of them can be. How bout supplies? Also have some state healthcare friends. Maybe can get some assist there. I know there's a program for those who don't qualify for medicaid but need temporary help. I know it's a little late and she may have already looked at her options but if not I can do some homework to see if anything would be available to her. Just let me know via email what might relieve her monthly outgo in some way. Of course my prayers are with her.
