I believe you can contact a Florida State Park, such as Grayton Beach State Park (see above contact info), and they can arrange a Junior Ranger certificate to be granted!

Florida State Parks celebrate Literacy in September

This week, the rangers at Eden Gardens State Park conducted reading events at the park. On Tuesday Bay students visited the Park for reading fun, and Wed the Montessori kids visited. What a great way to play in the park! the report from my kid was that it was a lot of fun... This was the event description...

LITERACY DAY: THE GREAT WORD HUNT AND READATHON at the Florida State Parks

The Florida Eden Gardens State Park is sponsoring a fun-filled afternoon of reading events, including The Great Word Hunt in which the students will search the gardens for letters and then utilize those letters to create words; the team creating the greatest number of words will win a small prize. The day will be finished off with reading time facilitated by different volunteers reading to the children at various locations within the park. A Fun Literacy Day for South Walton Montessori Academy Kindergarten and First Graders.
Wednesday, September 9th from 12:30 - 2:00 p.m.

My kid brought home a Florida Junior Ranger newsletter - containing several activities for kids to read and complete. Instructions were to complete activities in the publication and bring it to the ranger station to earn a pin and certificate that will identify you as a Florida State Parks Junior Ranger! parents may be able to pick these up at any state park - just ask a ranger!
