Someone stole Susan's kayak off her rack on her car in front of ShooMama's Friday evening 7/8/11 (Santa Rosa Beach, FL). Have you seen it? Please be on the look-out and call the law if you find it -- let's get it back for her! We'll repost when it is found and returned. It is a Wilderness Systems Tarpon 100 sit-on-top, orange in color.

That is the lowest!! I want to catch them and strap them to the rack for a long drive followed by a night out exposed to yellow flies and mosquitoes!!!!

I put it out on Facebook-I strongly encourage everyone to write their drivers license number, in LARGE letters, in permanent marker on their kayak hull. It seems these things are getting stolen pretty frequently now...if your DL # is on the boat, the thieves will be questioned about it when they try to resell them and if recovered, you actually have a good chance of getting your property back. A cop told me to do this, as well as etch it into nice tackle, TVs, whatever. If enough people around here did this we could get some of these knuckleheads arrested and they would start looking at hulls before stealing the kayak!

Agree - also write an identifier hidden somewhere on your stuff where a thief won't look to remove it. Then if stolen you can tell the police where and what to look for.
