i will get to watch the derby this year, usually we are either on the way home from sowal and i have to listen to it, or i am sleeping and miss it all together. who is everyone rooting for ? i always root for bob baffert's horses, and if there is a gray horse, or solid black i like them too ! i am very technical in my methods aren't i?

i look for a good name and flashy clothes

Seagrover picked the winner last year based on his clothes alone. She has a talent for it!

My daughter called me with the perfect horse...Seaside Retreat. We have to bet him just on the name alone!! She said he's a long shot, but hey, bigger winnings!

Gordie Hinds, who once lived in Kentucky, has some great paintings of the Derby at House of Art in Shops of Grayton.

I saw those, they are lovely!

Audie...I'm with you...I can't lay off the greys!! But this year there are 3!!! Steppenwolfer is 30 to 1, (I like him) Flashy Bull and Cause to Believe are both 50 to 1! But I do love them greys!!! :clap_1:

Love the grays (Silver Charm  ).

Even though I don't go to the Derby anymore, I still tear up when I watch it on TV and hear "My Old Kentucky Home" played before the race. If you are at the track, it gives you extra drinking time cause if you don't know the words, you just chug your mint julep.

:lolabove: On tv the first few line come out real strong, but by the end of the song...its just sounds like everyone is mumbling!!

We all get together every year, this year I think I'm having it...but the crowd is dwindling...turkey season and communion season :D
