OMG....That is the cutest! Has me singing..."All Things Bright and Beautiful"! What a sweet momma dog....makes you proud to be a mother!!!!

Those kind of pics KILL me- are y'all trying to force me into a puppy? Last week a client came into the vet clinic with a laundry basket full of 4 week old golden pups...sigh.....I was strong and resisted, even thought there was one left to be sold. My husband just "happened" by and saw them too, but I managed to deflect fate. WHY ARE PUPPIES SO CUTE!!!! :bang: :bang:

Are you a vet/asst.? You are very strong to resist!!! Molly, my 12 week old sheltie, had her 2nd vet visit yesterday. She is so darling...everyone had to pick her up and get kisses! This is like the old days when I would be strolling the babies at the mall and everyone would stop and coo over them! You can't help but beam!!! BTW...aren't puppies so cute because they get into so much "trouble" and then you can't get mad at them?

I work for our vet 2 afternoons a week to maintain my sanity- I have a 3-almost-4 year old daughter and a 12 year old son. It is such a nice mental break because of the fast pace-I can't really worry about anything else while I'm working! AND I get to play with cute babies! AND we have really nice and devoted clients, so I like to visit with them as well.

My daughter's age is the primary reason that we don't get a puppy. I see so many "puppies gone bad" (not housetrained, bite, chase, destroy stuff, etc.) because families thought it would be cute to get their small children a puppy, but did not consider the huge amount of time and patience involved. The puppy usually ends up elsewhere because it is "bad". :bang: That is why I am considering an older rescue if we get another dog in the next few years, because I know that I can't devote the time and training that a pup needs to be not only a loved member of the family, but also a happy dog. Like kids, they need boundaries and rules.

That is my Saturday soapbox!

Here's a puppy fix..9 little retrievers 1 day old with mama Jenna ( a friend of mine)

Thank you for sharing the photos of those adorable yellow lab puppies with pink noses! My yellow lab - Lulu - looked exactly like that when she was a puppy, and she still has a pinkish nose. She is the sweetest girl in the entire world, and also obsessive-compulsive when it comes to retrieving balls and sticks. We do not even give her a ball unless we are outdoors and ready and willing to throw it for her for an hour.

We got her 7 months before our little boy was born which gave us plenty of time to dedicate to her training. Puppies do require a lot of time and attention and constant care but its so worth it...
