Happy day - let us rest.

A Labour Day is an annual holiday that resulted from efforts of the labour union movement, to celebrate the economic and social achievements of workers.

The celebration of Labour Day has its origins in the eight hour day movement, which advocated eight hours for work, eight hours for recreation, and eight hours for rest. On 21 April 1856 Stonemasons and building workers on building sites around Melbourne, Australia, stopped work and marched from the University of Melbourne to Parliament House to achieve an eight hour day. Their direct action protest was a success, and they are noted as the first organized workers in the world to achieve an eight hour day, which subsequently inspired the celebration of Labour Day in September and May Day.

What part of the day do picking up kids from school, taking a shower, eating, running errands, etc fall into?

I am all for changing to 10 hour work days, four days a week. Close shops 3 days per week. You practically work only half a week, have a holiday weekend, every week, probably have less stress, conserve vast amounts of energy, etc.

Like I said on another thread you can find out just about anything on this board. I'm emailing the info out right now. Also love the idea Kurt for the new work week :clap_1:

Kurt, that's a great plan. If you whittle the days down to three per week and add in three months of vacation a year, it's called early retirement. We heartily endorse this. Life is too short. What's that old saw, "Whoever on their deathbed said they wished they had spent more time at the office?"

24 hours a week, 7 months a year.
