"Lady in the Water"

New posts
At Vampire's Kiss' conclusion, Loew is so far gone he is one of New York City's walking crazies; speaking to himself and wandering the streets and using his now disastrous apartment only as vampire's cave to hide from the sun.

Well I definitely have to see it and I wonder how someone got hold of my diary and wrote a movie :funn:

BSsmart, back to lady in the water, did it have a a political undertone like the Village, or was there just a lady in the water scaring the cockapoo out of the lady of the house?

There was a definite political undertone...dealing with global, social, and cultural leadership in the face of societal dissent and near collapse. There was reference to Martin Luther King and Ghandi. The basic character structure of the bedtime story for which the movie is based, is in my opinion similar to a constitutional monarchy type politcal system. There is also a religious undertone in the movie, similar to that in Signs, in which we find the main character freeing himself of guilt and anger which had built up from the occurrence of a horrible event sometime in the character's past.

i liked the village also, but most people i know didn't care for it. i will probably buy lady in the water when it comes out on dvd

I think the town hall used in the setting of The Village looks like the Town Hall in Rosemary Beach.

Definitely agreed that The Village was the best. And bsmart is right, town hall does look an awful lot like the one in Rosemary Beach. hmmm....

Wow Bsmart, quite the scholarly review! :clap_1: Looked at the trailer on the web site and it doesn;t really seem that scary at all. I will have to see it.
The television ads always market his movies as scary. I wish they would tell more of the story.

I don't generally like skeery movies either, but I really like M. Night's movies, especially "Signs." And like Paul Giammati too, so I'm sure I'll find redeeming qualities in "Lady in the Water."

i loved signs too. i would love to have one of the foil hats they put on that looked like giant hershey kisses !:rolling:

I like Sixth Sense too. Was M Knight featured in this movie as well? I love how he works himself in like Hitchcock used to.
