Last visit to 30A during the Xmas holidays

We'll be arriving in a few days. Noticed that Sunday's low temp is forecasted to be 25?! This will be our 3rd trip down during the holidays. Knew it would be cold, but it's really getting extreme. Hope the days will warm up enough to ride our bikes. I know we'll be able to walk; have picked our restaurants out already - we always go to 1 or 2 new ones each time.
We started coming down during the holidays because UofL wasn't going to bowl games anymore. But now that we're a football school again, we'll skip the 30A holiday trip. We had alot of friends who are just returning from St. Pete and we should have been there! Decided not to fly down to St.Pete for a few days, throw Xmas together, then leave to drive back to FL.
We do have 2 weeks booked in June, so we are looking forward to that. We did that two years ago and loved that first Friday night when you usually had to begin packing and putting the week behind you. It was wonderful knowing we had another week. This past summer we came down for one week in June, then July 4th week. It was fun looking forward to the July week - July 4th was too crowded but lots of fun.
May try Spring Break one more time.
We'll be down soon. Can't wait. Happy Holidays. Ellen

What to do over the holiday?

Regardless of the temp, you can't go wrong being at the beach! I plan on coming down Frday - Sunday. Since you have experience with place to go over the holiday, can you share with me where you have found to be a nice/fun place to go on dec 24th and Dec 25th.? Of course we're looking for places to eat, but also things to do (especially on Christmas). do you have any suggestions?

Sorry I missed your reply. During the day, we rode our bikes and walked as much as the weather allowed. On days the weather didn't allow, we drove and stopped at some of the little shops we didn't always run into in nice weather.
Indoor dining is preferred on really cold nights of course, but Bud & Alleys is our favorite spot - the rooftop bar - for drinks and at least an appetizer. Also, Fish out of Water at Watercolor has a wonderful beach view. Some days Santa Rosa Beach Club is open for non-members and they have great views too.
A plug in for Amavida coffee shops and Seacrest Sundries if you don't have internet access - but certainly for coffee and/or snack.
Might want to concentrate the dining out meals to night time since it is dark and you can't walk or bike then.
Of course, when the wind dies down, sit by the water. Or lounge at one of the beach pavillions.
We decided to come down for Spring Break now since we won't be coming back during the holidays. That will give us two visits a year.

Can anyone tell me if there is a one day ticket for the 30A Songwriters Festival? And where oh where can I find a schedule of performances?
