I hope I can find some advice and quick. We are yearly visitors to SoWal and 2 years ago on a rainy day we took our 3 yr old to a little place called 'Glamour Girlz' in Destin Commons mall. It's a very girly googaw store where little princesses can get makeup/nails done and shop.

She saw the pictures and begged to go back, I even checked to see if it was still open. We made her earn the money for 2 months.....and it's CLOSED!

I need an alternative pronto..we're here in Seaside until Sat. PLEASE HELP I don't want to break my 5 yr olds heart :(

I was thinking about a salon we have in oklahoma for kids/girls called "sweet and sassy" I didn't find it w/ a google search, but i found this in panama city...check and see. Couldn't find a website for them other than this...hope it helps.

I would be tempted to ask a beautician at a regular spa or salon to oblige my requests for my daughter, bet they might go along. (Years ago, i was in franchise sales for Glamour Shots---so I know what you are looking for...) Good luck.

you are joking, right?
you obviously have no children or at least not a little girl, who love fun things like this.
I wish I could help...I would suggest a salon near by and then take her to Fired Up for some pottery painting :D Perhaps you can find a photographer on this board who could help with some photo shots?

You might try talking to Debbie at A-List Salon in Seagrove (by Bruno's Pizza. She's got daughters, and she'd understand the trauma involved here... :floor: (850) 231-7333.

If nothing else, maybe she'd be able to curl/fix your girl's hair, and do a"mommy and me" mani-pedi with matching polish... :D And then you could have a girl's lunch together somewhere special!

I used to do pageants, and between that and three high school proms, I spent a frightening number of hours (and dollars, come to think of it...) in that salon hanging out and gettin' gorgeous... I kinda grew up there. Used to walk next door to Bruno's in hair foils and toe-thingies to get a slice of pizza and a glass of Jeff's Alabama-sweet tea while they worked on me... Good times!

Good luck on your search! Hope it all works out (and I hope you'll post pics! )

Hope you find something fun!! .. and enjoy it while you can. We're past those days now and I really miss them. The life of teenager's mom is not nearly as fun.

Since they're staying in Seaside, some quick thoughts:

Call Shannon at Roland's Beauty Bar for hair and pretty girl looks.
Rolland's Beauty Bar and Art Gallery
Call us here at Fired Up and we can put together a Princess Painting Party. Among over 500 pottery pieces available today, we have Cinderella, Snow White, and Little Mermaid that could be fun!
