Hey everyone-
You know I rarely post our gigs here on SoWal, but this one is special, and I've had some requests that I put this up in advance to give Atl people a little heads-up. Here's the promo info for anyone who might be interested, and thanks, Kurt, for letting me post this.
My band Deep Blue Sun is doing a live CD Recording event at one of the coolest recording studios in the south, Tree Sound Studios, Saturday August 12. It's called "An Evening of Art and Music", featuring Deep Blue Sun, Doria Roberts and Stop Drop and Roll. Each band is recording their live CD--we invite you to be part of the audience if you have nothing else going on. This is an exclusive event--only 150 tickets will be sold and the first 100 tickets sold will leave with a bottle of Sterling Vineyards wine, who are sponsoring the event. You'll have the run of the house at Tree, which is very luxurious and has a great atmosphere, there will be an incredible art show & gallery, free Sweetwater beer and wine, munchies and food, and you'll witness three albums being cut. This would be a great date night.
Doors open at 6pm and goes until midnight. SDR starts the evening with a set of original bluegrass. Doria Roberts has a Tracy-Chapman -meets- Woody-Guthrie vibe that subtly packs a punch. DBS closes out the night with original melodic rock and funk with a classic Georgia sound.
Tickets are $25 and available at Inticketing.com. Here's the direct link to the event:

We are hoping to get all the tickets sold in advance, so if you're thinking of coming, it would be great to buy them online.
Tree Sound is located in Norcross at 4610 Peachtree Industrial Blvd., Norcross GA 30071.
Tree Sound is the place that Elton John, Dave Matthews, Outkast, Isaac Hayes, Matchbox 20, and so many other artists have cut their latest work. It's truly rock-n-roll paradise, and a great place to spend an evening.
If you have further questions or need directions, PM me back. We promise you nothing less than a REAL GOOD time!
<edited. reason: to reflect the realtiy that DBS never "glams up".>
