Looking for church in the Santa Rosa Beach area

New posts
ducer you seem to forget the original question was for a non-denominational church. I suggested DWC which is a non-denominational church.

My apologies if you're so Christian that you are able to see peoples flaws and judge them, I thought that wasn't the point of Christianity, but as a non-Christian I guess I wouldn't know.

You know pork deep fried in a coconut batter sounds delicious.

yes it is, sadly. most folks these days are as fluid as amoebas floating thru life, finding morality only when
they need it and making the rest up as they float along, it's nothing to be ashamed of anymore than
a simple one dimensional mind, it's the not looking for more that's sad

I wake up every day and marvel at the beauty around me and realize I will never know the true origins of it all. I find it sad that people spend their lives seeking an answer to the unanswerable. Most people the world over will practice the religion in which they were raised, never seeking an understanding of another belief and claiming theirs is the one true religion with the one true deity. This line of thinking leads to intolerance and conflict. The death and destruction in the name of religion is well documented throughout history. Why couldn't all religions be true with each one receiving their own reward? It's possible they could all be reaching for the same goal, but taking different paths. I think of a mountain surrounded at the base by all the worlds religions. As they begin their ascent, each group takes a different route. Unfortunately, when their paths cross they feel they must conquer and force the other to convert instead of just allowing everyone to go their separate ways. We see this happening in America everyday.
I responded to this thread after a post saying there were churches in the area that were nonjudgemental and I apologize for that. It has become a knee jerk reaction for me because of the constant efforts of Christians trying to force their beliefs on the rest of us. I would feel the same no matter which religion was proselytizing.

That may sell to the other children who live in fear.

But the same exact couple of people hijacked this simple, innocent
question of a thread to tell each other about their own insecurities.

It's okay, it's so commonplace it only deserves a cursory response

You must be referring to the poor sons and daughters of fundamentalist Christians indoctrinated with the prospect of Hellfire.

If you don't find a non-denominational church you like, you are welcome to try Christ the King Episcopal. Not all churches are for everyone, but if you are looking for a smaller church with nice people who create a sense of family, it is worth a look.

Well put Poppy, agree 100%.

Never once claimed to be a Christian
much less a Good Christian
much less less a spokesperson for Christians,
quit letting your insecurity lead you around like a bloated sheep.

This thread was started by someone, new to the area, asking a simple question. The person did not try to convert anyone, nor did they bash anyone else's belief. In fact, out of 5 pages I don't remember seeing one person trying to convert you. As far as I'm concerned, you can believe in whatever you want, but don't bash others because they want to worship God. As a Christian, we are suppose to help those that seek Christ and welcome them into his house. If you don't, that's YOUR choice. You can spend the rest of your short life here on Earth spreading hatred towards people of Christian faith. I almost had to laugh at the statement about Christians being turned away at Heaven's gate. If you truly feel that you must live a sinless life, then yes no one will spend eternity in Heaven. My suggestion to you would be to find a Bible and educate yourself this weekend. Why do you think Jesus died on cross? Read the Bible and then you might want to think twice before you post your thoughts. Just an idea! Thanks again for giving this family such a warm welcome to our community.
