loose kayak

my friend forgot to tie his kayak down this afternoon on the way to the post office(he is a bit stressed)and it blew of on the way there..a car pulled up to him and told him of his loss and by the time it took him to go back to the spot someone had stolen it already????(or im hoping someone picked it up to try to find the owner)it is a cobra fish and dive(white)and he uses it all the time if anyone can help locate this kayak please get back to me asap thank you very much.

I don't think I would call picking up a kayak in or on the road theft. I stopped on 30A a while back to pick up a refrigerator cardboard box, with chunks of styrofoam, which was on and alongside the road. I threw it away. Had it been a kayak, I would have taken it too, though instead of tossing away, I would have tried to find the owner, as I think most people would. Short of posting a flyer or two at the local post office or on a message board like SoWal Beaches & Scenic 30A - Beaches of South Walton Home, there isn't much one can do to find the owner, if the boat isn't identified with the owner's name or phone number. Keep an eye out for a "found kayak" flyer. I would like to believe that most people are honest and that the kayak will show up.

I was actually the one who found it. I picked it up and called the sheriff. He came by and picked it up last night. Case closed

Thanks, it seems they do because the very next day my wife and I got a call from our adoption agency, and we have been moved up the list by several weeks. It pays to do the right thing it seems.
