I don't know much about Madonna's adoption or reasons, and frankly don't care, but I have to agree that someone couldn't possibly be looking for publicity especially if they have their opwn biological children
. Although it may be easier for celebrities, international adoption is a long arduous process in most countries. It's a very emotional process. People tell parents who adopt, oh, at least you don't have to have labor.Believe me, I know people who have adopted, and the process was one big labor pain of love.
If I had her money, there wouldn't be any orphans.

Agreed, and she may have been completely upfront with her intentions to adopt this child; what she had in mind was most certainly completely clear to her. My concern is that the father might not have had an equally clear understanding of her intentions, and--if there is any truth to this--my heart goes out to him.madonna's accomplished much, and done a lot her life, but lying or doing anything mean isn't her thing. especially when it concerns a child.
Well, the adoption isn't final yet, from what I understand. Typically, a family adopting a child in Malawi must reside there for 18 months before it becomes final. Madonna and her family were able to arrange their 18-month trial period (or whatever the real term is) to take place in London, in their home, with visits from a social worker. In terms of the father, it has been reported that he was under the impression that she would take the child with her, raise him and give him the advantages of life with that family, but he would still be legally his son. Cil, I know you can read about it on CNN.com and NPR.org.I am of two minds about it.
On one hand: It's Madonna, aging a bit, trying to keep the stardom thing going when she's not straddling crucifixes or whatever.Angelina Jolie has her little tykes, and now here's Madonna doing her own 3rd world babyshopping. I am sure her celebrity oiled the adoption wheels along. And perhaps the biological father did not want the adoption to take place? Hmmm.
On the other hand: How on earth did the child get adopted if the father did not in <some> way relinquish him to the facility? In addition to top healthcare and education, the kid will have a lot of material advantages. The love he receives might be from a mom who is a bit distracted, but I don't doubt she genuinely cares for her offspring.
I guess basically I am a bit cynical too yet think more good than bad comes from it.
The same thing happens every day in this country in a sense; a pregnant woman decides she wants to give her unborn baby up for adoption. She possibly meets the prospective birth parents, sees they can give her baby much more than she can, signs the paperwork, etc. Then the moment of surrendering the baby comes, and she can't go through with it. In most cases, she doesn't have to.She went through all the proper paper work and even spoke and met the father. She said he knew exactly what her intentions were when he agreed that his son would have died without her help.
After this news hit the papers and the reporters began to haunt the father and manipute him he began this "I didn't realize she was adopting my son".![]()
She said "It's a shame that this incident will probably deter people from adopting in other countries".................
