New posts
Sen. Kennedy has passed away~~~~~

Rest in Peace! He endured a painful illness and I wish great peace and love for his family.

May he be remembered for all of the good he did for MA and for this Country!

;-)

"And may it be said of us, both in dark passages and in bright days, in the words of Tennyson that my brothers quoted and loved, and that have special meaning for me now:

"I am a part of all that I have met
To [Tho] much is taken, much abides
That which we are, we are --
One equal temper of heroic hearts
Strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield."

For me, a few hours ago, this campaign came to an end.

For all those whose cares have been our concern, the work goes on, the cause endures, the hope still lives, and the dream shall never die."

From Senator Kennedy's Speech at the Democratic Convention in 1980. http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/tedkennedy1980dnc.htm

May he Rest in Peace.

An anonymous source revealed this morning that Mr. Kennedy was the first victim of the current administrations death panel. Mr Kennedy was told to "suck it up and take it like a man" he was also told he would be "setting an example for other elderly patriotic Americans by reducing the burden of caring for non productive members of society." President Obama thanked him for his service to his country before personally pulling the plug ending his life support and the medical cost to the American people.

playing politics with the senators passing is disgusting, but typical.

im no fan of the senator, but he served this nation proudly for almost five decades and should be respected as such. Im from his neck of the woods and he did in fact do alot for that state and for the nation. he was both right and wrong, but he served for what he believed would be a better america

RIP Teddy.....

One thing I know for certain about Senator Kennedy - he was a liberal from the start and he wore it on his sleeve. If other politicians were as forthcoming as Ted, politics would at least be more transparent. The vast majority lie through their teeth/promise unbridled partisanship to get elected with no intentions of honoring those promises after voters give them their job. May he rest in peace

Poppy, It's disappointing (more like disgusting) that you chose to share that!

Sadly it peaks volumes about you.

It was meant to shock because what is really disgusting is this is exactly the type of scenario the right is trying to scare the elderly of this country into believing. My own mother ask me the other day about death panels because it is the main topic of discussion in her retirement home. Your faux outrage isn't convincing.

There are other threads for such statements and "humor."

Last month I saw HBO's outstanding documentary about Kennedy, "In His Own Words," and I was struck by the clip where the early interviewer asked him about his political viewpoints. "Oh, I'm liberal," he said, without hesitation. It made me reflect how sad it is that "liberal" has become such a dirty word, and what Kennedy meant when he said it.

Whatever his flaws and mistakes, Kennedy was the patriarch of an incredible family, one that TRULY has dedicated itself to public service and the greater good -- with deeds, not just money. I think it is fair to say his service rivals any the Senate has ever seen. His many friends on both sides of the aisle will I'm sure be attesting to that in the coming days.

RIP Teddy.

and yet you still want to put politics over the mans passing. the left just cant put their hatred and need for political arguments aside for just on minute.

and the right isnt scaring grandma with something that isnt so. its not a dealth panel, but it certainy will act like one. perhaps you should look into other countries and see what happens when the elderly with life threatening causes are treated and/or asked to consider. if you put politics aside for one second, you may in fact learn something. its nonsense like this that will only be a hurdle for real reform in the end.
