Mass. Sen. Edward M. Kennedy dies at age 77

New posts
It was meant to shock because what is really disgusting is this is exactly the type of scenario the right is trying to scare the elderly of this country into believing. My own mother ask me the other day about death panels because it is the main topic of discussion in her retirement home. Your faux outrage isn't convincing.

Don't forget, he "used to be a liberal".

RIP Sen Kennedy.

It's interesting to note this will likely push a health care reform vote in the Senate past January.

Alright, I'll admit maybe I went too far and it's too soon. Upon reading of senator Kennedys death this morning I thought about the fear in my 84 year old mothers voice and became one of those town hall lunatics (except I don't own a gun). I believe I was successful in convincing her this can't happen because this is 2009 and we live in America. I have great respect for the Kennedys because of their tireless efforts to give voice to and enrich the lives of the less fortunate. My post was meant to make a statement not offend and it's true there is another place for this. I will delete it and offer an apology to those who were genuinely offended. I believe Ted Kennedy will be missed more than most people realize.

and yet you still want to put politics over the mans passing. the left just cant put their hatred and need for political arguments aside for just on minute.

and the right isnt scaring grandma with something that isnt so. its not a dealth panel, but it certainy will act like one. perhaps you should look into other countries and see what happens when the elderly with life threatening causes are treated and/or asked to consider. if you put politics aside for one second, you may in fact learn something. its nonsense like this that will only be a hurdle for real reform in the end.

This is the exact crap I was speaking of. Your saying it isn't a death panel, but it is a death panel. Thank you for making it so clear, could I give you my moms number so you can scare the sheet out of her?

let the politics continue. You just cant stop and neither can the liberal fringe on tv, the internet and in print. "town hall lunatics"? "except i dont own a gun"? Man, has the left gotten ahold of you.... I went to a couple town hall meetings, im not a repub and ive never owned a gun. So......what say you?

yes, she should be scared if obamacare is passed into law. And please please please stop saying that this if for the less fortunate. This bill will by no means benefit the so-called less fortunate anymore than the current system does. The system needs a tweeking, but public options are not the answer and never has been. Its the simple way of looking at something, but anyone with a business mind knows the real outcome in the end. Victimazation will get you nowhere.....

I did not mention you nor did I refer to you but if you feel the description fits you so be it. I have apologized for my post so let it go, it's over.

If nothing else, "town hall" as a modifier is indelibly etched in our psyche. From the Urban Dictionary:

Walter: Them dang aliens are trying to abduct me! I’m gonna git my gun and shoot them!

Lebowski: Gees Walter, that’s so Town Hall. There aren't any aliens, so put the gun down and chillax

playing politics with the senators passing is disgusting, but typical.

im no fan of the senator, but he served this nation proudly for almost five decades and should be respected as such. Im from his neck of the woods and he did in fact do alot for that state and for the nation. he was both right and wrong, but he served for what he believed would be a better america

RIP Teddy.....

y'all are gonna drive me to an early grave. :bang: you both have some very informative thoughts and posts and i definitely learn from you both, but remember there's always PM when it's appropriate. this is not what i wanted to read in this thread, senator kennedy should be remembered respectfully. but of course this is JMO.
