Massachusetts Congressman Barney Frank addresses woman comparing Obama to Hitler

What the hell are you talking about numbnutz, I didn't say I agreed with the fascist principles. I said I agreed the author's definitions of facism. Get some reading skills dumbass.

Personal attacks are not allowed and name calling is unnecessary. Be respectful or you will be banned.

How does one respond to such well thought out criticism? I could respond with several made up acronyms, but I see no point in feeding more acorns to a jack@ss.

side note - I don't understand the basis behind the Hitler comparison. Besides being offensive, I don't get the point.

I think I get it. typical right wing fear tactic. whether it makes sense is beside the point. we've heard a lot lately about nazi, socialism, communists, death panels, evil, and it goes on and on. its all fear based, imo. and it works with a certain right wing segment of americans. sad. but true.

Typical LEFT wing fear tactic. It works with a certain LEFT wing segment of Americans. :D

:idontno:can you explain what you mean here?

I've only heard the reference by Nancy Pelosi (Democrat) trying to instill fear of protesters at Town Hall meetings and by the LaRouche (Democrat) supporters. Hardly bastions of the right wing.

Again...

I'm cutting and pasting the reference from Wikipedia's Layndon LaRouche entry since it addresses the issue most efficiently; he and hsi people are where the Obama/Hitler comparisons are coming from:

"LaRouche's comparisons of U.S. President Barack Obama to German dictator Adolf Hitler in 2009 have generated controversy. LaRouche has called Obama's actions "impeachable," without actually calling for impeachment, due to his support of health insurance reform that LaRouche says is comparable to Hitler's Action T4 euthanasia program.[156] The LaRouche movement has printed pamphlets with a picture on the front showing Obama and Hitler laughing together, and have made posters of Obama wearing a Hitler-style mustache.[157] In Seattle, police have been called twice in response to people who were offended by the posters threatening to tear them apart or to assault the LaRouche supporters holding them.[158] In one notable event, Rep Barney Frank referred to the posters as "vile, contemptible nonsense." [159]"

And again, Lyndon LaRouche is an activist and perennial presidential candidate, most recently and most frequently as a Democrat.

okay, I see what you mean here. I should have been clearer in my post: the fear tactic that works with extremists of any party (I just associate it most with the extreme right - and have seen much of this lately from Palin, and the like). my comment was generally speaking, not specific to the LaRouche matter. and ended up confusing. sorry.

I most associate it with the left. These types of (false) proclamations:

Gun-toting, astro-turfing, tea-party protesters - paid by insurance and drug companies - possibly threatening the lives of representatives at town hall meetings...carrying swastikas, shouting incoherently...

We must pass health care reform now, before the economy collapses, people dying in the streets from lack of care, having to choose between feeding their children or buying their medicines, people losing their homes because of one illness...

And the like.
