If you have a lot of problems making it work and record normally....call them and ask for a TIVO DVR. Make sure they give you a good no contract deal.
Got one installed today, works like my directv DVR back home and you can watch recorded programs on any other attached TV. Good luck.

steel1man, are you still happy with the TiVo service? Mediacon frustrates me to no end, but they're the only game in town.

so far so good, did they offer you a discount? My next move would be directv, I have it a home in Alabama

I was due to get my TiVo on the 16th. That appointment was cancelled due to the equipment not being available. My appointment was rescheduled for the 24th.

I got a call yesterday that they would have to cancel my appointment for the 24th because the equipment was not available. Guess what the UPS driver just dropped off at my door? Yep. The TiVo equipment. Does this mean I can get my appointment re-rescheduled?

These folks can't get out of their own way.

Holy cow, that was a nightmare. Contractor working for Mediacom seemed totally clueless about installing TiVO. Took over 4 hours. Told me, "I got it working, I'm leaving".
