Why thank you CoS....just had the purple do coiffed!!! I actually think I will start swimming today. Dallas is getting steamy! What are people doing for the holiday weekend...I am alone with Molly. We will be playing a lot of catch and release of the ball collection.

I may be sleeping for the rest of the day since I am up way too early this morning. :floor: Nothing major planned. I was going to head to the mountains, but I cannot stand the thought of a peaceful cottage on the river with 40+ people there, not to mention all the people racing from the big cities to beat me there. Then, my thought was to go out on the boat over to Crooked Island, but I would have to be a nut to get on the water this weekend with all of the drunk people who do not know diddly about boating. I may just don a wig and go out taking photos incognito. ;-)

Yeah, I see a nap in my future as well. SJ...my advice is to stay off the roads. Go to your secret place. I will be cleaning out Mr. K's new office space here while he remains out of town. I am being a good wife!

My brother's wedding is tonight. Should be funn! Third times a charm right? It is beeeautiful here today so I think we may go to the pool. I need to get my florida tan back! Miss K, you are lucky, after putting on your cute red swim cap you can just step out back and dive in.

I've been helping mr. dd research his family--he just received some tintype photos from his dad. I cleaned the kitchen, vacuumed all the dog hair :bang: , did two loads of laundry--thought of you, audie. Babysitting for the four girls tonite--think I might need to rest up before they get here!! Tomorrow, I'm going to help Dareth (daughter) start to get her house ready for sale. Long story. Might cook out tomorrow night with all the kids. Monday, veg on the couch--yeah, right.

We are staying home, possibly going out for dinner with a couple of friends tomorrow night. Three-day weekends can be nightmarish here, and next week begins the dreaded Napa Valley Wine Auction. Lots of lookey-loos driving around with 28 glasses of various varietals under their belts. Mercifully, no one can get up a head of steam to do any real damage until the wee hours of the morning. Weather is beautiful, sunny and slightly breezy, warm enough to work in the garden and cold enough at night to sit by the fire. This morning, we planted the herbs that didn't reappear with the spring, plus pumpkins, six species of tomatoes, Japanese eggplant, broccoli rabe, and bell peppers.

We are resting this weekend, since we will leave next for 10 days on Bainbridge Island, WA. Do any of you know and love this spot?

This is sad! Never been, but.....I did see it on an episode of "House Hunters" on HGTV. It looked lovely!
