YouTube - Snake Identification Banded Water Snake

In this episode of 'Another Walk with Mike' you will see a snake often mis-identified as a Cottonmouth (Water Moccasin). And you will see just how aggressive it can be.

Also, as a bonus, I will show you another often mis-identified specimen, a bonus feature, if you will. I think you'll be very, very impressed. I know I am!

As an aisde, I plan on getting to a few places this month that will lend itself to some pretty impressive video if all goes according to plan. I am looking forward to it. I will have my two kiddies with me and I want to share some special places with them. I'll be making an excurion to a few true gems that I've been to before and want to make sure that they visit as well.

Hopefully you'll be there too! Until then, enjoy another episode of 'Another Walk with Mike' and look to find your passions in life.

wondering about new "mike" series

We just finished watching our nightly episode and enjoyed the new installment. Our daughter loves a snake (a passion her mama does not share for Satan's hand puppet), so she thought it was cool.

Her father commented, "Uh, Mike better be careful, or we're gonna be watching a new series called, "Another Trip to the Hospital." Your fan club thought that was pretty funny.

Our little fish wanted to watch a couple more ("The Second Sandbar," and "The Springs One" -- as she calls it), but she was too exhausted after 3 hours of swimming this afternoon, so we'll have to see reruns tomorrow. Be sure to let us know when your DVD boxed set is available on Amazon... :D

Blessings!

Well now you have me hooked on your videos! The one you just posted was great - I am a huge snake lover. See below the pic I took of Mr Big as we call him. We have 160 acres here in LA and allll kinds of snakes. I just worry that when we move they won't have their sanctuary because as you know to many, the only good snake is a dead one. I have a Kingsnake I adore (salt and pepper) and will miss.

Your gator video in Daphne, AL was too much. I was on the edge of my seat!! We saw a 4 ft little gator yesterday buy yours look like they could have been in Tarzan movies.

I tried to subscribe to your youtube site but it was under maintenance. Will try later.

Thanks for the exciteting videos!

I'll be making some more snorkeling videos in the middle of the month that she will certainly adore and who knows, maybe I'll come across something else sooner that will be right up her alley. But the springs I intend on going to soon will be something very special. I've been before and have seen some unique things.

Thanks again!

I've noticed the moccasin here seem bigger, on average, than those I was use to encountering in Louisiana. (Funny, I was just at Bud and Alley's and a lady asked me, "So, what do you do?" I said, "Well, lately I've been making videos". Of course she thought I was headed in a different direction so I explained that the videos were Nature based)

Anyway, it's great to hear from someone who shares a love for the wild world of Nature. That is a mighty nice specimen of cottonmouth you have there. Looks like he's recently been to the dentist and has his pearly whites on display. Also, notice how the tail tapers at the end quite noticeably? This is another feature of the moccasin.

I'd love to ramble around on your property in the spring looking for snakes. I was in Louisiana for a trip in the spring and saw numerous snakes. I wish I'd done a gator video there. I have some amazing spots I can go to with enormous populations of epicically sized gator.

Thanks for your kind words. I basically am following my passion right now and sharing it. I guess part of my passion has become sharing it. I'm not sure what exactly my future holds, as I do need to find some income before too long  but in the meantime, it sure feels good to create.

Much love to all who enjoy my stuff.
