Kfunn on hand grenades:

These were from the Sugar Bowl back in 05. I spared Jfunn and sacrificed myself. We were so worn down after that weekend. Especially after the week we were in Grayton for NYE. That was when then apocolyptic picture was taken.
What were you and Mrs Skuny doing trolling the streets during Southern Decadence!?!?!?![]()
OH MY GOD!
OK, here's the story, it really isn't that ribald or anything. New Orleans is a tourist driven town, and restauranteurs will do just about anything to lure locals in to the eateries in the slow summer months. So, when I was a naive little intern, we decieded to hit an Italian place in the quarter called Bacco http://www.bacco.com/ where they were having some unheard of lunch special. Besides the good food deal, they had 5 cent martinis. Well, this was Labor Day weekend which also happens to be Southern Decadence weekend http://www.southerndecadence.net/ so we watched the 'colorful' scenery outside and sipped a few of these cheap gin bombs (actually, I had gin, Mrs Skunk does it vodka style which is wrong, but anyway...). Since she is not a native Orleanean, she innocently asked "Where is Pat O'Briens?" http://www.patobriens.com/. Of course, I knew it was just a hop, skip and jump away on St Peter. So off we went after lunch;it was perhaps 2PM. We entered the piano bar, which is totally windowless and in much the same fasion as a casino seeks to disorient the patron and cash in on their vice. So, I had a hurricane and she a mint julep. And a few more, etc. We were feeling pretty good, sending requests up to the piano women, singing, etc. Then 'they' came and sat next to us. This was a crew of maybe two or three young women and a lone young man, all of whom I suspect came to town specifically for decadence from Mobile. So, we struck up a booze-fueled conversation, and fast forward several more drinks. The guy starts telling me how pretty my eyes are, telling me I am cute, etc. Well, I figure as long as Mrs Skunk is present this is harmless enough;in fact, I wanted to cash in on this. So, much like a woman might, I suggested this guy ought to buy me a hurricane. And he did. And he kept on and on. After a few rounds, Mrs Skunk suggested we hit the road. Before we left, I scrambled through the bar and collected as much empty glassware as I could, since I being an informed local know, the price of your drink there includes a $3 deposit on the glass. Covered with alcohol from dripping glasses, I pocketed a wad of cash from the bartender and we left. I remember being plastered and it was totlally shocking when we went outside and the sun was still up. Whoops. So, we stagger up St Peter and hit Bourbon, and we take the left to go catch the streetcar http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/St._Charles_Avenue_Streetcar to go home. OK, I really am not sure what happened next, but suffice it to say, the guy who had bought all those drinks for me wanted some payback. He grabbed me and started planting big wet smooches on me. Mrs Skunk had to break it up. Thank God I don't rememebr too much. So, we left, and besides one other incident on the walk back where I solicited an illegal substance from a bathroom attendant in Howl at the Moon (even though I don't partake in the said substance), we went home. Wow, what a day.
I love that you made out with a dude. Too funny!
