More sadness on Hwy 331

New posts
That is very sad. Every time I see the remains of a wreck down here, I cover my eyes and slowly peek throught the cracks in my fingers to see if I recognize any of the vehicles. My heart is always ready to go into shock when that happens. It is not a good feeling to have.

Please let this accident be a reminder to focus on driving when we are behind the wheel. Let's stop taking notes as we drive, stop talking on the phone, stop reaching into the back seat, etc. Life is short enough without someone else having to end it prematurely us. Let this also be a reminder for us to tell people whom we love that we love them, and to live life to the fullest, because it is true, that we do not know when our time will come to leave it all behind.

I did not know Bill and Betty, but from what I hear, they lived a good life and enjoyed it while they could.

I hate to hear this has happened again. So sad. Please be careful everyone.

This is so sad. I have often thought of her through the years, as I can still remember parts of Silent Night in Japanese, even some 30 odd years later. (I think I was 7 or so) That is someone leaving an impression on many lives.

Well said, Smiling Joe...You make some really good points about the things we do in the car while driving........

:( So Sad. I breaks my heart when I hear things like this. I will certainly keep this family and all of their friends in my prayers!

Just now seeing this thread. My Lord, are there more dangerous roads in the state than 331 and 98? The frequency of fatalities on these roads is astounding.

This is precisely why I forbid my wife and child to travel that road when we're down there. It leads to some pretty strong arguments re. her going to the outlet mall, but so be it. Once we hit 30-A, we don't venture any further north until we leave.

As sad as I am, what makes it worse is that, several years ago, I almost splattered somebody (and probably myself too) at the very same intersection on 331, in the very same way. I was paying too much attention to the radio and not enough attention to my speed AND the fact that three cars were stopped ahead to allow the first one to make a left turn on LaGrange Road. Fortunately, I was lucky enough to make it off the road and not roll over or hit a tree. But now, I am truly ashamed. It only takes a minute to change lives forever. :(

For those who are local, I spoke to Yoshiko's oldest daughter last night. They are meeting with Clary-Glenn today and services will likely be this weekend. They will be laid to rest in the Point Washington Cemetery.

So, so sorry to hear this news. If anyone finds an article please post the link. Thanks shallowsnole.

I found an article on The Walton Sun website.
