I think everyone here in Memphis are so tired of storms. Last night was the third time since early April that we have had severe weather. Tornado sirens going off for a solid hour last night between 8:30 and 9:30 and then more right behind it from 9:40 until 10:30. The lightning and wind and rain were ferocious. Tornado spotted just west of us 6 miles heading east at 40mph. Never saw anything thank goodness. A third round sometime during the middle of the night, must have been maybe 5:00a.m., don't know for sure! Getting tired of this! Poor Missouri got it again. Caruthersville, Braggadoccio, and Steele that all got hit hard back in early April. Pitiful! Do you guys have the severe thunderstorms and the warnings down there like we get here, other than maybe hurricane season! Hopefully not!

We had a short light show and quick rain last night. It looks like more rain is on the way today. Sorry about the bad storms there....hope there was no tragedy.

Not that I am aware of this time. The sirens were so loud I doubt that we could have heard the roar of a tornado if there was one. Supposedly one was sighted. We somehow dodge the bullet. I do believe some areas had golfball or baseball size hail. A business burned to the ground because the firemen on hand to battle the blaze had to seek shelter because of the tornado warning and the bad lightning. It struck the mechanical part of one of the hook and ladder trucks, rendering it useless. It was a family owned business that had been in business 40 years. A flooring business that also had chemicals stored inside. You can imagine.
