More TSA security theatre...

What if he had blow up the plane? We'd still be scratching our heads as to what happened. And more likely several other planes would have probably been blown up too. Lucky is an understatement in this failed attempt. TSA,NSA,CIA,FBI and DHS all failed this test terribly. I wonder since Xmas how many others bailed on their missions since this "criminal" was arrested for "allegedly" trying to blow up a plane? I'll bet on quite a few.
Now were paying for his high class lawyer who's already stated that he's willing to bargain and deal on a plea. Anything less than 300 attempted 1st degree murder charges is a JOKE!
He being given constitutional rights is a JOKE! Us paying for his lawyer is a JOKE!
And also don't the Airlines bear some responsibility here too. They sold the ticket for cash, which is common in Africa since fraud is huge, and noticed nothing strange about him checking no luggage and no passport? Yet they let him on and didn't notify airport security.
And Kudos to the FBI and Police in Detroit who left passengers on the plane with the bomb still on it for nearly 30 minutes after taking the "alleged" bomber off the plane.
Not much mentioned about his partner in Amsterdam who talked him onto the plane w/o the passport.
And where's the medal for the Hero who foiled this attack. At least invite him to the whitehouse for a Beer.
He's my man of the year!
And lastly thank goodness Obama's pledge to close Gitmo last year is one he hasn't fulfilled! Let them rot there or let them swim home.

there's been a little too much fear in the air since 01. dial up the technology, dial back the bovine like gauntlet we traverse on check-in, and the problem will shift somewhere else

A public school teacher was arrested today at John F. Kennedy International Airport as he attempted to board a flight while in possession of a ruler, a protractor, a compass, a slide-rule and a calculator. At a morning press conference, the Attorney General Eric Holder said he believes the man is a member of the notorious Al-Gebra movement. He did not identify the man, who has been charged by the FBI with carrying weapons of math instruction. "Al-Gebra is a problem for us," the Attorney General Holder said. "They derive solutions by means and extremes, and sometimes go off on tangents in search of absolute values. They use secret code names like 'X' and 'Y' and refer to themselves as 'unknowns', but we have determined that they belong to a common denominator of the axis of medieval with coordinates in every country.

As the Greek philanderer Isosceles used to say, "There are 3 sides to every triangle."
When asked to comment on the arrest, President Obama said, "If God had wanted us to have better weapons of math instruction, he would have given us more fingers and toes."

White House aides told reporters they could not recall a more intelligent or profound statement by the President. It is believed that the Nobel Prize for Physics will follow.
