Spotted today on Calculated Risk. Mortgage applications and refinancing are still declining with no turn around in sight. This tends to contradict more optimistic predictions of a bottom in the market.

Could part of it be that those who are buying are paying cash because the banks are affecting the market?

He said as bad as this year really is the earnings are inflated to to companies and people taking earnings now while the taxes are low.
