JB, I had that exact mental picture of Kathy going on in my mind. :lolabove:

Hey, Darryl Hannah did it. I don't think it worked but she didn't go without a fight.

Yes, the property looks great. Have you ever stayed in cottage A-1? I have been trying for years to book that little unit with no success. Either way, as long as there are no storms between now and then, we will probably come down in late August for a long weekend and stay in the gulf front building.

I will, however, miss having my daily breakfast at the Wheel House. The food was, uh, not great, but so convenient, it was impossible to pass up.

No, we have never stayed in the cottages. We always have the whole bottom floor of the gulf front building. There are usually about 8 families that come down at the same time each year. We all graduated from high school together. Most of you know this, and I am sure sick of hearing it! I know the cottages are booked throughout the year and it is hard to get them.

I too will miss my breakfast at the Wheel House. It was so convienent!!! I hate that it is no longer there. However, one of the guy's that comes with us makes killer breakfasts, and I happen to be staying with he and his family this year since my sister will not be able to make the trip.

Did you guys know that Seagrove Villa's has been sold? Looks like this may be the last year in business.

NOOOOOO!!!! OMG....I did know that the owner passed away, but I had not heard it had been sold. I will have to do some investigating.

Didn't the owner recently pass away, or did I just imagine that? You may very well be right about it being sold, but why would they put so much money into restoring the place if it will cease to exist in a year?

Just because it has sold doesn't necessarily mean it will be razed and replaced with a condo. The place makes money, there is no doubt about that.

I can see Kathy now, strapping herself to a palm tree to prevent the bulldozers from coming in

I really do not think that they will be razing it. I can't imagine loosing one of the older places on 30-A. However, stranger things have happened and I imagine if the $$ is right it could very well happen. I sure hope not.

Yep, my ass will be in the hammock strapped to the beautiful palm right beside it if they try to raze it!!!!

I will be doing it. Just let them try it. Will you locals come and bail my butt out of jail???

It was my understanding that Bill Abbott owned Seagrove Villas. You may be thinking about the owner of the Wheelhouse Restaurant passing away.

When Bill sold Abbott Realty years ago, the two properties he kept were the Seagrove Villas and Henderson Park Inn.

Bill is very much alive as far as I know. I heard this information from his office a few weeks ago.
