The article is yet another feeble and failed attempt by a conservative to make an analogy. I really don't know where to begin. For one thing, it's the low income uninsured not the insured, who pay lower rates for health care. That is, in many instances, they pay absolutely nothing. Of course by the time they do, their body is a broken mess because they haven't been able to maintain it. They just hop on over to the emergency room and then possibly might even get moved up to intensive care. So now, with insurance, partially subsidized with government assistance, they ARE paying something. They WILL be able to maintain their health at a younger age. I could see the point of the article in a world where all that mattered were abstract principles, and facts, reality, and consequences didn't mean sh!t.

On the elevator of life a Liberal will send the car back down to help others rise to the top. A Conservative will cut the cables.

Never understood the logic. Let's make life difficult for people who owe you money!

You are living in fantasy land LOTB. The same people have insurance who had it before, the same people get health care for free who got it free before and the same people who could not afford insurance still cannot afford it. The only change is that deductibles are skyrocketing as well as prices. And those who cannot afford insurance are being fined by the government. Except for young adults and those with preexisting conditions, I cannot see how anyone has been helped. There certainly has to be a better way to help those people without empowering the IRS and sticking the rest of us with thousands in deductibles.

The article was comparing government subsidized health insurance for a fee with the private sector screwing over rich people (basically fuc.king themselves). I pointed out the apples/oranges comparison. I called B.S. and stand by what I said. If you want to smuggle in some other B.S. that has nothing to do with the original topic, feel free, but I will also feel free to ignore you. Can you possibly try to make a point rather than skirt around an issue? It would be a first for you.

You can ignore me but you cannot ignore the exorbitant premiums and deductibles that Obamacare has ushered in. Not to mention the fines you pay if you do not have/cannot afford this "tax." These issues are right on point for a discussion of the "Affordable" Care Act. There needs to be improvements to this legislation to help the middle class. And the President and many Democrats cannot/will not admit this or try and do something about it. That is my point for posting a joke/parody which was not intended to be a serious discussion of the issue.

I agree it is not ideal. We should cut our pork and defense spending, then provide health care and decent education for our citizens.

You and the rest of the Conservatives bit@h and moan about Obamacare or any universal healthcare for that matter and yet the Republican party offers nothing, nada, zip, zero as either an alternative or replacement. Boehner has had over fifty votes to repeal it and zero ideas to replace it. Get off your lazy asses and offer something or STFU. You effwaffles claim we have the best healthcare in world and it is just not true. It is only the most expensive. I want a single payer system like most of the advanced nations have, some for over 60 years. Please share with us your solution. This is from the Commonwealth Fund and there are many other studies to support the findings.

The United States health care system is the most expensive in the world, but this report and prior editions consistently show the U.S. underperforms relative to other countries on most dimensions of performance. Among the 11 nations studied in this report—Australia, Canada, France, Germany, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States—the U.S. ranks last, as it did in the 2010, 2007, 2006, and 2004 editions of Mirror, Mirror. Most troubling, the U.S. fails to achieve better health outcomes than the other countries, and as shown in the earlier editions, the U.S. is last or near last on dimensions of access, efficiency, and equity. In this edition of Mirror, Mirror, the United Kingdom ranks first, followed closely by Switzerland (Exhibit ES-1).

There are plenty of conservative ideas and proposals to make healthcare better. It is the liberals who have no answers except blind defense of Obamacare. We spend more on healthcare than any other nation and have done so for years. Obamacare has not addressed the problem nor has it addressed the fact that we do not get the most bang for our buck. It does no good to have health insurance if the deductibles are so high that you cannot afford to pay them. That is what the middle class is facing.
