Beach Comber
My family has started doing some fishing in the Bay. Would love to have some information (spots and how to) if anyone has any.

would love to help, but its not that easy. each bay is different. each fish species is different. and than theres tides, water clarity etc etc etc. best thing to do is get up with a local guide to provide the basics.

i would start off staying away from the east end of this bay. theres fish, but no where as much as other parts of the bay and/or other bays.

ive been fishing since i was a little lad and have fished all over. when i got to the area about 10 years ago i couldnt believe what i needed to learn to fish these waters. trust me, get a guide. theres great ones locally.

and remember, limit your kill..........or like me release them all

Thank you for your reply. We are just spending time with the kids and they love to go out and watch the dolphins play and spend a little time fishing.

well i can help if your just trying to put the kids on some fish. are you fishing from a boat, a dock or....?

Yes, we are on a boat.

ok. first, fish early morning. if thats possible with kids. i dont have any kids, but i know mornings werent my best friends back than. or fish late afternoon into early evening. again, stay clear from the north east part of the bay. its the most beautiful, but theres alot of fresh water coming from the rivers which can complicate things a bit. you can always fish under the bridge which will bring you some luck. otherwise, fish the flats early morning, late afternoon with live bait. im a fly fisherman, but live bait is by far the best guarantee. spoons and top water plugs should also bring you some luck. and for help getting rigged up, see john at yellow fin and tell him your wanting to fish with live bait in the flats. in fact, john can tell you what you need for gear. as for the bay, time will provide you with knowledge. the more time you spend on the water, the better youll learn the water. good luck to ya

Thank you, early is not always best. I didn't know if there was one spot better than the other or what. We will try your suggestion though. Thank you again for your time.
