I think you missed Whitey's video clip. It describes in detail the process. They don't actually faint, when they are startled or scared, there muscles lock, often causing them to fall over, stiff as a board.

I've seen that clip - it is awesome! I just crack up at the thought of a stiff goat- so many possibilities with that one.

I hope the popularity of the video doesn't cause people to go out and get their own fainting goats. They could be the next Vietnamese Pot-Bellied pig. Paris Hilton will get one, you watch.
