New Red Bay Fire Station

Does anyone know why the new Red Bay Fire Station is not open/operational? As one passes on their way to one of my favorite eateries (Red Bay Grocery), I cannot help but notice that the lights are not on nor are the doors open. In essence, the building is unoccupied. If memory serves me correctly, the building was dedicated several weeks ago. Just wondering if the operational expenses were being diverted to the building of the new bridge? Thus, the building remains closed.

My sources tell me they had some detail work that was being finished. To even suggest the drop in the bucket that the fire station represents being diverted is funny, you must think that thing is worth some mooooooola! Why not stop in and ask the firefighters, makes more sense and more likely find out an answer to your question.
Seems as though you might want to strap your helmet on and quit bouncing the nugget off the wall.

But Bob....You misread the post. The lights are not on and the doors are not open. No one is at home. The place appears VACANT. Who would I ask? Quite frankly even if firefighters/emt personnel were there, they should not be subject to answer my questions regarding the building. They have other priorities. Thanks for your comment.

Well actually, the firefighters/ paramedics and firefighters /emts are located in the building next door in a portable and the trucks are located in an old metal building and have been there for 4 or 5 years. The big metal building was located there when Red Bay was only a volunteer department. My only mistake was assuming that you lived in the area and were not just a person who frequently drives by. As for them being subject to answering your questions, that may be so, but customer service wise, I can assure you not only would they, if they knew the answer they would be happy to.
