Beach Crab
Hello Everyone! My name is Mary and I moved to Miramar beach from Atlanta a few months ago with my boyfriend and 2 kids. I moved on a leap of faith. I left my clients (some of 20 yrs) and friends etc.. To move here so my boys can have a better life. The schools in Roswell where we lived were great but there were so many bad areas right next to the nice areas. My boys are teenage boys and this time I realize is very crucial. I also kinda was ready to live by the beach. Now.... Saying all of that... I have been here months now and I have not met too many people yet. Only my neighbors and a few others. I am very outgoing but this place is so different than the big city and everyone seems to be so tight knitted that I can't seem to get established businesswise or meet very many people. I use to help publish a national magazine and put events on etc.. so it's not like I don't like people or they don't like me. I built a reputation of integrity and being at the top of my field in the Atlanta area. But jeeez.. It's so different here and I just need help getting established and back on my feet. Maybe I just need to know the local spots or where to hang out and what to do to meet new people. I am not comfortable around superficial people and I am not a gossiper also I am real and what you see is what you get. Maybe that is my problem... H-E-L-P! Any advice would be so appreciated. :D Here is my fb profile to learn more about me. https://www.facebook.com/

I'd say start volunteering in the community -- the schools, the REP, Alaqua Animal Shelter, or wherever your interests lie. :welcome:

I hope you find friends. I've seen some people move here and never adjust. Some move back or elsewhere and some stay and aren't happy. Some people crave the city.

What buisness are you in?

I have been in the business of making women feel and look beautiful for 20 years as a hair stylist, make up artist and national platform artist for both. I took up photography so I can do make up hair and photography. I've been into the photography business for almost 10 yrs now. It's hard doing any of that here cause everyone does it.

serenity by the sea spa is a great place to work. you should come by and see what that got. and it is part of the sandestin beach hilton where you can meet great people here.
