Any ideas, or what do you do? I see from SoWal.com on the events page that Baytowne Wharf is having a 1st night celebration with fireworks. What else's up?

MERMAID!

Here's what we do every year:

1. Start at Grayton Sunset for a pre-party
2. Go to the Red Bar around 10
3. Get confetti, hats and blowers
4. Dance with T-Bag
5. Get bottles of champagne
6. Spray champagne all over everyone...then cover them with confetti while they are wet
7. Climb in the car (With Parrotheat 74 driving) go to 331
8. The rest of the night is a blur

Then you wait for the next one...

For Mr. Kitty and I, the last three years have gone like this....

1) eat a good meal out and drink champagne

2) talk about how lucky we are to be in SoWal for New Year's

3) call sara82 and MS to find out what they are doing in Dallas

4) fall asleep watching Rockin' NYE on TV after celebrating NYE on ET

5) wait for MS phone call to say he's home

6) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz!!

Can I get a raise of hands of the Sowallers that are going to be in Sowal for the big day. Other than J-funn, W-Funn and Beach (gonna get) Crazy (with the funns)?

Yes, you definitely are funn! I enjoy a quiet evening at home. I guess it is due to hosting way too many Black Tie New Year's affairs.

Yes, I am listening to them bark over my shoulder. I may watch some of the last quarter, the part when the game really counts.

Okay, I just turned around on the punt block. Look, Ma, I am typing without looking!

I may have to pop one of Mr. O'Rear's beers. Mr O'Rear owns the Coors distributership in Athens. (I hate running out of $10/btl red wine and Guinness.)

The BEST NEW YEAR'S MEMORIES ARE MADE ON 30-A!!!
Just being there is enough for us, however we have been so blessed every New Year's since 2001 to spend it on 30-A!! We've done dinners at Cafe Tango, followed by partying with friends in homes, condos, whatever, to ring in the New Year....(We used to do predictions, based on certain questions, for 5 years + into the future and put them in sealed envelopes...that was fun for awhile...we don't do it anymore but will be bringing out the predictions we made 5 years ago which should be very interesting!!) however, our favs have been having everyone in for fun dinner (have done everything from fancy appetizers to barbecue), watching football, playing music, listening to the ocean from the decks, catching a few fireworks on the beach, and including all ages...from 7 mos to 75 years! TRULY MAGIC!!! We started doing that so that the young mom & dads could have New Year's out & kids could stay with us.....heck, they wouldn't even leave....didn't want to miss the party!!! Plus it's been so neat to include wonderful folks who normally don't do the New Year's thing!! This year we will be mixing it up again...drinks at friends....restaurant dinner...relaxing with friends. We like to keep changing things up a little each year....there's no place we'd rather be!!! :D :D

I can't even describe New Year's Eve! I get confetti stuck in every single nook and cranny. I found some in my shoes this year from the year before. This year I'm going to be in that picture! Are we going to have lighted ice cubes again this year? I think we need to go bigger and better!
