Do you make 636.00 per hour ?

FF2

While trying to confirm SG's post about the minutes being approved last night I spent some time reading the minutes for the first 9 months. I suggest you never be late for their announced meeting times or you might miss the whole meeting.

The average length of a SWFD meeting this year has been 47 minutes gavel to gavel. The shortest meeting lasted a whopping 19 minutes and the longest was 85 minutes. They receive 500 per month for their service which calculates out to about $10.65 per minute.
Not bad when you calculate it per hour of time $636.60 per hour.

I'm a reporter for the Herald/BB and I can say our writers, our Editor, and our publisher cares if we get it right. I work very hard to be accurate and when dealing with budgets or numbers, I always try to get my hands on an agenda or resolution with the numbers in it, so as to make sure the info I put out is as accurate as possible.

If you find inaccuracies in our reporting, please, email our Editor, so, we can research it and print a correction. His email is ron@defuniakherald.com

I know that all of our reporters work very hard to cover a wide variety of subjects and we appreciate feedback when we are doing well and serving the public's needs, as well as when we get it wrong. Thank you.

Can I expect you to correct this one ? I must say that you paper does have a better track record thab our "local fish wrapper".

Thanks for listening.

I have to admit the the Herald/BB does well with reporting. The Walton Sun to me has become unreadable. The front page this past issue is a design embarassment. But, then again its free. You get what you pay for I guess.

The most important responsibility they have is to accurately report without bias. The editorial page is the place for viwpoints are expressed and the reader then determines the value placed on that viewpoint.

I should be able to read articles on page one without running to the source to validate the "facts".

If you want a story written in the Walton Sun all you have to do is pay for advertising.

I pay for advertising every time I buy groceries, eat at a restaurant, purchase furniture, etc.

Businesses place ads n the paper because they expect peopleto read their ad as they read the news articles.

No news no ads.

IG: :lolabove:You make some outstanding points. I too feel the SUN is a mullet wrapper that is jammed packed full of propaganda, printing exaggerated, half-truths, pushed by a few who are "connected" to their adgenda. For what?! I don't know. What a poor excuse for toilet paper. If there is one thing that turns my stomach it is inaccurate, bias "news sources." :bang:

AL: :clap:I commend you for being one who strives to report news, not steaming pony-loaf, like the SUN. I truly hope you see this an opportunity to take the lead in reporting truth in this area, because if you are as truthful and unbias as you implied, I will spread the word. A bias news source is nothing more than a irritating commercial, disguised as something you would take the time to read. I have one thing to say to the SUN and other bias, so-called news sources...WHAT COLOR IS THE SKY IN YOUR WORLD?:bang:

Thank you all for your posts. This was long overdue. And thank you for tolerating my rant.
