Next trip to SoWal???

New posts
I just found out last night that my corporate wife duties have been changed and I may be able to escape to SoWal soon!!! I am awaiting WC's reply to my email to find out when our place is available the next two months. I don't want to be there during Spring Break, so I am looking at end of Jan and Feb.

So, anyone else planning a journey? How about that bus idea?

We'll be there on several weekends in the next few months. You'll find us at some bar (formerly Shades at Seaside - gotta find a new spot) watching college basketball.

I was thinking about driving down tomorrow, but it looks like a two days with a good chance of rain and one mostly cloudy (=dreary for those of us with SAD). It doesn't get sunny until Friday, but I need to return on Saturday. Maybe the forecast will change by the AM.

BTW I don't do the corporate wife thing. Guess I should, but (a) I don't really have time because of my job, and (b) his company rarely includes the wives. My husband's company has an absolutely gorgeous guest house, so when he needs to do "homey" entertaining of customers, he takes them there - again, rarely are wives included.

I'm going just for the weekend at the end of Jan. We are also trying to work something out for my daughter and Camden to come down for a couple of weeks prior to her return to work in April. They husbands will be flying down on the weekends. We haven't sorted it all out yet. As soon as we do I'll let you know.

Hey BR, I know you aren't all that keen on the new Shades at the loop ( it really sucks about your favorite bar) But....it really is a great sports bar. My husband and son caught a couple of games there and it was really good. Of course it is closer to us so that's also a plus. We liked it a lot better than the sports bar in Carillon.

Oh Gypsea, are you trying to torture me? We had the most wonderful time visiting with you over the Christmas break!

I am in such a blue funk now. The condo we bought is renovated and ready for rental. The little paper-wrapped bars of soap for guests have been delivered. The monthly trips down to the beach to work on it are over and now we must cross our fingers and hope it rents because we are officially broke! Booooohoooooo, no trips down to the beach for funn for us for the immediate time being.... :( :( :(
