OK - out of the closet - I do watch some TV ;-)
Wife I & been flipping on FX channel couple of nights a week 'round 10pm (EDT) to catch some of these "new format" shows - "Rescue Me", "Over There", "The Shield", "Nip/Tuck" - initially wind down fare while we chat this and that up before lights out - turns out some of this stuff's pretty good - especially compared to typical broadcast stuff (OMG - are they done with "pretend reality" shows yet?). Anyhow, "new format" appears to be, instead of shooting maybe 20-22 episodes and dragging those out over 8-9 months, they shoot something like 10 episodes of a show and run a new one every week. Last one's done, that's all 'til next year, but they page in a new "season" of another show. Result is "new" episodes of some show couple nights a week all year long. Pretty much all of the shows I mentioned are very much MA rated.
