Ordinance: http://www.co.walton.fl.us/DocumentCenter/View/6653
Please be advised that two or more Walton County Commissioners may attend this meeting.

Thanks for the links. If I'm reading those right, it looks like this is primarily to move the fees for existing citations to a separate document.

It was my understanding that they wanted to start using the citation and fine process more for violations of the ordinance rather than charges of violations having to go before a judge to be dealt with, which takes time. I think the resolution is required to change the beach activities ordinance and that the changes would be reflected in the ordinance as well as in the resolution. I will try to find out more next week.

Okay, thanks for the info. I will not attend to avoid cancelling my classes in GA. If the issues gets scarier, I'll be there. Most people don't understand that. I can't reschedule classes for legal reasons. So we college professors don't have the freedom that most working people have to reschedule a meeting, appointment, work schedule, etc.

I found out yesterday that the county is holding the workshops to get public input on the beach activity ordinance and especially ways to make the ordinance more enforceable. People will able to comment on any part of the ordinance. The parts of the ordinance document that are highlighted or underlined are changes that the county will consider making. The workshops are being hosted by county administration, not by the county commission, although one or more commissioners may attend. So there will be no votes by the commissioners at the workshops. Any proposed changes will come before the county commission later on in one of their regular meetings.

The deleted information has been struck-through and new language is underlined. Pages 12 through 25 were intentionally not included as they contain only deleted information that was duplicated in our existing code of ordinances. Any language in red are staff notes or questions that will be discussed at the workshops.)
Following the workshops, the results will be presented to the Walton County Board of County Commissioners in order to schedule a public meeting.
Note: There may be additional changes made to the linked documents prior to the public workshops.
