Offensive Church Messages

New posts
My all time favorite from Memphis;

Most are funny and quite witty. Lucifer, that nail thing might have something to do with Holy Week coming up next week.

Maybe you're the only one offended? It's a harsh statement, but I am not offended.

I also find it a little graphic/distasteful.

My upbringing was focused on the positive messages of Jesus, not the crucifixion and I find it rather creepy. I know the theology behind it, importance etc. but that doesn't make it something you want to get a visual of while driving down the road.

I could do without the messages period, but some of them are kind of amusing and funny. Some are witty, some are funny because they're dumb. Some use scare tactics and I wonder whose attention they are trying to grab. The non-believers??? Give me a break. This kind of imagery is why some of us saw the light (at least in our opinion) and rejected Christianity in the first place. Anyway, this is the first time I saw a message and was offended to the core, for my own unique reasons of course, but I figured maybe others have had similar experiences based on their beliefs or lack thereof.

Same vibe I get in Walmart.

Signs in general can be offensive. This appeared on a BBQ joint in PC after the local gay bar burned:

"Now we know what cures AIDS"
