Our host in Australia was talking about people dressing casually for work there in the summer (our winter). He said they wear t-shirts, thongs, ... I was shocked and interrupted him. I said, "Thongs?" He said, you know, those shoes that have a strap between the toes to hold them on. I told him what we in the U.S. think of first when we hear the word "thong." Thanks to Bill and Monica, right?

I am guessing the County ordinance is still in place? what a ridiculous waste of time and effort. People need to be in charge of their own bodies at the beach. I can understand needing rules for safety and taking care of the environment. If people are offended by a butt or a breast, they do not need to be at the beach, or a pool, or even in Florida.

That said, unless people are exposing themselves to kids or something, I think law enforcement has far better things to worry about. The morons driving down the sidewalks in golf carts for example.
