Beach Comber
We had our whole trip planned. 15 of us heading down on Saturday and rented a house in Inlet beach. We had a small intimate beach wedding planned for sunset Tuesday the 29th and dinner after at the Saltwater grill...Suitcases packed and everyone excited!!!   Then it all came to a screeching hault!!!!! :yikes:

Dad was thrown from one of our horses on Sunday while trail riding and has a fractured skull and a serious brain injury. He has been in the ICU an step down all week here in St.Louis. So needless to say our trip is post poned. The good news is that he will recover and the bleeding has stopped and he has suffered no brain damage...

So Rivard and the owner were great and offered us a week in July that was open. Which was so lucky because I thought the house was booked solid.
So we switched everything to July 21st and then the wedding is Tuesday the 24th on Inlet beach by Rosemary beach. I may go ahead with dinner at the Terrace Restaurant now since it is close. They were closed after Memorial day so I could not book them for next week.

I know it will be way HOTTER!!! How about crowds?? Is it pretty close to the same as Memorial day week???
Short rain showers each day??? I was down at Seagrove with my Mom in 1997 in July and the water was just beautiful.

I am sure it will be fine and I am so thankful Dad will be ok. I am just depressed too and don't want to unpack the suitcases.

The wedding people were great too. Everyone was understanding.

I just wish we were leaving tomorrow..This week has been like a dream although I know it is real...

If you can stand July in St. Louis, you should be fine :D

We will also be down the same week, be careful with letting out too many wedding plans, we might just crash. We love a good party.

And I'm glad your dad is doing better.

Michelle,

The crowds, weather, water, etc, should be the very least of your concerns.

Just make a rain, heat, hurricane/TS Plan "B" and move on.

Rejoice in the fact that your Dad is OK.

Best wishes,

Shel

Due to Global Warming... July has been cancelled.

The 'tar is Jake hitting a triple. The siggy came to me after 3 nights of NOT having any Dickles.

Michelle, my guess is that the week of July 21 will be perfect. I doubt it will be as busy as the week of Memorial Day. Today at noon, west bound traffic was backed from 395 to the Seagrove Villas.

Destin is a mess. Don't go unless you have no other choice!!
