PANHANDLE CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATE ANNOUNCES AR-15 GIVEAWAY

A candidate running for Congress in the Florida Panhandle has announced a contest to give away a semi-automatic rifle on his Greg Evers for Congress Facebook page.
Greg Evers said Monday that he is giving away an AR-15, because terrorist incidents are on the rise. The Republican candidate has served in the Florida Legislature since 2001. A statement says he has never felt stronger about the importance of the Second Amendment.

Evers is one of five candidates running in the Aug. 30 Republican primary for the seat being vacated by Rep. Jeff Miller. The National Rifle Association has given Evers and A-plus grade for the past 14 years.

The contest is open only to adults in Evers' district. The winner will be selected July 4 and must pass a federal background check. The announcement comes barely a week after a shooting at a gay nightclub killed 49 people.

I have no problem with people feeling the need to protect themselves. However, I do not think, George, Thomas, Ben and James necessarily intended for people to possess military grade weaponry.

I would love to hear a legitimate, fact filled debate on the practical use of assault weapons by non-military, or police personnel. There isn't one. You want to own a hand gun, rifle, or shotgun , I don't agree, but okay.

Correct me if I am wrong, but I believe that almost all of the recent massacres have involved AK 47, or AR 15s.

And if you need an assault rifle to hunt, you are a shitty shot and need to master marksmanship in the first place.

The media has done an excellent job convincing the masses that the AK and AR are exclusive killing machines. Where, a 12 gauge shotgun can do as much or more damage.

Many of the insaine choose these type of firearms to do mass shootings because they are lightweight. Easy to use. And easy to assemble/disassembled.

Fact is, more are killed in our country with hand guns then any rifle. Many times over. It's not even close. Check the stats.

But the AK and AR are "mean" looking and black. And the gas operation chamber and hi-tech stock and add ons make them look that way.

Btw- how many people were murdered last weekend in Chicago? Probably every one by handgun. In a city with the most stringent firearms laws. Where is the media outrage?

-6 dead memorial weekend
-42 injured
- 281 murdered so far this year.
And that is only Chicago.

Every firearm is an assult weapon. Shoud one choose to use it to assult.
A knife can be an assult weapon.
A baseball bat can be an assult weapon.
Muhammad Ali's fists were assult weapons.

The whole media "assult weapon" spin by a bunch of journalists (I use the word loosely), who are clueless and the lemmings who follow them is astounding.
