The original Grayton Corner Cafe sign went up today. Paul and Bonnie are excited to have it displayed in their cafe. Although very weather worn, it has held onto its magic! A special thanks to Kurt and Barbara Tape from Hibiscus Coffee and Guesthouse for donating the sign.

Had lunch there today. That sign brought back so many memories of my kids playing under it back when the "Corner"of Hotz and Defunk were kid friendly....

That. Is. Awesome.

Used to be my favorite place to go as a kid. That and Sip N Dip. I wish I still had my T-Shirts from both of those places.

Every time I walk in and see the old sign I sigh for those times when it was so quiet in the fall and winter months. You could tell who was up early by their distinct squeak of a screen door. Depending on what house you were living in you could look out your window or run to the top of a dune to check who had left early to fish. If you were lucky, you were in the boat five or so miles out. The best times were the parties that went on all night.....no invitation needed as we all knew each other!
