Let the Beach Renourishment Begin

TDC officials also received word Tuesday they've been approved to repair hurricane beach erosion from 2005.

The Army Corps of Engineers approved the renourishment of a total of nine miles of beach on both the east and west ends.

Four 2005 storms ravaged the shoreline. This twenty- million dollar project will replace just about all of it.

Workers will rebuild a five mile segment on the west end of the beach from Ramsgate Condos to Seagull Villas.

As well as a three and a half mile segment from the Moonspinner Condos to Lollye on the Beach.

About a mile of renourishment from Carillon Beach to Pinnacle Port has already been approved.

The work will begin sometime later this year.

Do you have a current aerial view of Pinnacle Port over on the west end of Panama City Beach and Bay County? I hear from pilots that its incredibly close to falling into the gulf and even a strong front might be enough wave action to cause damage.

The Bay County BCC better get their paperwork in order for future requests of 'beach' documents.

They're fine, no Nazi's over at Pinnacle Port or Carillon Beach. In fact they've been desperate for beach renourishment, even if it means, GASP, non-payers on their beach.
