Pandora's in Grayton Caught on Fire Tonight

New posts
There is a nasty burning smell outside right now- like rubber or plastic- had to close my windows!

As an FYI- Pandora's caught on fire tonight. To me, it looked like a kitchen fire and flames were shooting straight up through the chimney. Plenty of fire trucks and paramedic vehicles were quickly on the scene, though it seemed like it took them a while to turn on the water, but once they did turn on the water, the fire appeared to be extinguished within 20 seconds. To the best of my knowledge, no one was injured, and the fire looked to be contained in the kitchen area, but I didn't go inside, so I don't know for sure. Very scary, but it looks like people in Pandora's responded quickly, alerting the WalCo FD, who appeared to keep it under control, as much as it is possible to control a fire. I'm sure that Pandora's kitchen won't be open until they investigate the cause of the fire, yada, yada, yada, but the outside bar looked untouched and it might still be happening in the next couple of days. If they are open, please come and spend some money having a few cocktails, because their business will be suffering a little bit if they cannot serve food.

Yes, RiverOtter, I have pics;-), but I am tired and will post them later.

Update please!

I don't have an update, but here are some pics:

Oh my gosh...those were incredible on the scene photos Smiling Joe! Yes, it's quite strange the things going on with the restaurants around the area. I hope this wasn't the reason for the fire at Pandora's!

I'm sure Pandora's is all over this with the summer coming so near. Good Luck to Pandora's!!!!

Conspiracy? Nick's, Lakeplace burned up the other three robbed, Wonder if the insurance folks have looked into this? Many years ago when Pandora's was AJ's, the local folk in Grayton would have loved for AJ's to burn to the ground!:nono1:

What are you saying? A conspiracy by the restaurant owners to burn their own restaurants? Or a conspiracy by the old locals to burn and rob restaurants that don't suit them?

He's just talking smack, but he did leave out the Wheel House when talking about restaurant fires.

My guess is that they all need to have the exhaust vents de-greased much more often.

If the owners of Pandora's wanted to burn it down, they probably wouldn't have alerted the FD so quickly, and they probably would have started with that thached roof on the deck.

Neither, I just find it odd that so many so close catch fire. I have also worked in the industry for many years and another theory could be a pissed of employee or former one. Ever heard of the 2nd gunperson on the grassy noll.:bang

Attention restaurant owners and managers: Degrease your hood and exhaust systems on a regular basis to prevent unwanted fires.

Joe called it right. According to the paper, verdict is exhaust vent fire, and they hope to be reopened by Thursday.
