Peachtree Road Race

Beach Runner

beats on hood
This year I was bumped back to Group 2 (thanks to bad race times due to plantar fasciitis). My husband decided to do his first Peachtree after major heart surgery and was placed in Group 8. Obviously he'd be better off health-wise if he started in Group 2 because Group 2 finishes before Group 8 starts, and so the temperature is so much cooler for the Group 2 people.

If anyone has a Group 2 or 3 badge that they can't use, my husband would really appreciate it. I want to walk/run with him for companionship and to make sure he's okay. I'm not into my race time this year - I'm just into the happiness of seeing him successfully finish the race.

You may have more luck searching on myspace.com for a group 2 or 3 badge.

We both finished the Peachtree today! It was my husband's first. They picked my favorite T-shirt design (woo-hoo), although they put it on a green background. :idontno:

We had funn, then had funn at lunch with daughter and her boyfriend.

Happy 4th, everyone!

Bravo to you both! :clap_1:

Congratulations to you both!

It must have been hot. I can't imagine running in that heat.
It was rather hot. I was in Group 2 (due to a qualifying time in another race), so I started at 7:30. He was in Group 8 and didn't start until about 8:45, so it was a lot hotter then, and you lose the shade from trees and buildings. But he trained last week on 30-A. The conditions are much more hellacious on 30-A with the heat and humidity even at 7 AM and a rather flat road than they are on Peachtree Street at 10 AM.

Good for you both for accomplishing this feat! And I don't even need to tell you how impressed I am that you were out of bed early on a holiday. That's major ambition right there! :clap_1:

Congrats to the both of you !! :clap_1: Also saw the shirts today and I think they look very good much better than some years.
